Consistent Trout Action and Clear Water Conditions on the White River
White River - null, AK
The White River in Arkansas continues to deliver excellent trout fishing conditions this week. Water levels remain steady thanks to consistent releases from Bull Shoals Dam, creating ideal flow for both wade and boat anglers.
Anglers are reporting solid catches of Rainbow Trout using PowerBait in chartreuse and salmon peach, along with small spinners in gold and silver. Brook Trout are showing up in cooler pockets near deeper channels, while early mornings have produced some impressive trophy Brown Trout on live bait and jerkbaits.
Fly anglers are finding success drifting midges, sowbugs, and scuds—especially during low water periods. Overcast days are producing the best bite windows, especially in the first few hours after sunrise.
Guides are noting that the best action is coming from the stretches just below Batesville and near the catch-and-release areas downstream. Water clarity is excellent, and temperatures remain in the ideal range for active feeding behavior.
Whether you’re fishing from the bank, floating with a guide, or casting from your own boat, this is a great time to plan a trip. Don’t forget your Arkansas fishing license before you hit the water.
